Expectation

  1. Noun

    The amount of anticipated loss or gain in a specific period of time, based on the player's history of loss or gain. Expectation may also account for the circumstances within which one is playing, such as the skills level of opponents.

    EXAMPLE: "I'm much more skilled at flop games than other types of poker. My expectation for no-limit Texas Hold'em in my local cardroom is $17 per hour, but I have a negative expectation in stud games."
